 Harr Family Farms
  • Can buy from directly or they are located in Soulard Market at 13, 14 & 15.  They have eggs, grass-fed beef, free range hogs, organic chicken as well as non organic chicken, ducks, geese and turkey. Fresh Pasture Farms, LLC (Millstadt, IL)

  • Offer wholesome pasture raised foods including eggs and poultry.  Eggs are available Saturday mornings on the farm from 9am - 1pm, or by setting up an appointment.  Poultry is available monthly (call for dates).
  • They provide fresh pasture daily to every animal.  If fresh pasture is not available due to bad weather, grass hay is given.  They are not certified organic, but they practice a holistic approach to their farm and animals, meaning they do not use commercial fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, hormones or antibiotics.  If any animal is sick, they seek treatment with essential oils or other holistic methods.

Hammer's Farm (Florissant, MO & Decatur, IL)
  • Offer grass-fed beef by the side or whole of black angus steers.  The cattle are raised using intensive rotational grazing techniques, free of pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones and antibiotics.

The Price Family Farm (Wentzville, MO)
  • Produce beef in a humane, non-industrial, and environmentally friendly way.  Beef cattle spend their entire lives free-ranging on chemical-free pastureland.  The animals are not implanted with hormones, nor are they fed any steroids or antibiotics.

The Old Homestead (Washington, MO)
  • Offer free-range eggs and handcrafted goat milk/olive oil soap bars.  Soaps are made with 50% olive oil which is very healing and nourishing to skin along with goat's milk which is moisturizing and gentle to skin.  By combining these ingregidents, along with coconut oil, palm oil, and shea butter, it makes an extremly gentle and nourishing soap bar.  No colorants or artifical preservatives are used.  
  • Eggs can be purchased at the Sappington Farmers Market on Watson Road, Freddies Market on Big Bend in Webster Groves, and Local Harvest on Morganford near Tower Grove park.  You can also purchase soap at the Local Harvest Store.

  1. Daydream Acres is relation to my husband and they do a great job keeping true to what it really means to be organic! The proof is in the produce! Also, they occasionally sell beautiful flower arrangements that are "countrified". Wonderful to work with.

  2. Thanks for the research on local organic farms. I'm starting a blog soon and have listed you as a resource. I know Bruce Haas--I'm in his CSA. Do you know Biver Farms? Wonderful operation, wonderful family. Also a big fan of Cock and Bull Farms--they've been absent from The Land of Goshen Community Market this year--hear there's a new baby keeping them busy. Just amazing chicken, according to my husband--I'm a vegetarian.
